On 11 June, the Africa Scores (AfrikaScoort) exhibition opened at the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam, coinciding with the start of the World Cup. The opening celebration included a welcome speech by Lejo Schenk (director Tropenmuseum) and Rien Vrijenhoek (director Tropentheater), a freestyle football performance, an interview with the editors of Africa United, a performance by South African soul singer Zonke and a reading by Abdelkader Benali, a Dutch writer and journalist. The exhibition features the six African countries that competed in the 2010 World Cup and exhibits a selection of material produced for the Twenty Ten project. The exhibition is on show in Amsterdam until 22 August.
