Nikki Rixon is a freelance photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. She has worked on assignments for The Wall Street Journal, Discovery magazine, Leadership magazine, Cape Etc magazine, Men’s Health magazine and South African Airways In-Flight magazine Sawubona. She was also a contributor to the book Women by Women: 50 Years of Women’s Photography in South Africa. She is interested in covering subjects related to positive social and humanitarian projects, and was awarded the Tudor Sigma Documentary Photo Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2008 and the Silver Prize for Documentary Photography 2009 for the Profoto Awards. She has travelled extensively both at home and abroad, and enjoys distilling the essence of these experiences through her photography and sharing them with the world.
